Guidelines for authors

GUIDANCE FOR AUTHORS

A . Indications for the presentation of articles

All manuscripts have to be sent through the electronic platform where the journal is located (Open Journal System). Articles and book reviews will be reviewed for publication. Items must be submitted using the following  doc template .

Articles submitted must be original, not previously published, and must not be under review in other scientific journals. REMIE will not publish more than one article with the same authorship and / or co-authorship in an interval of less than 24 months.

To ensure the originality of the texts received, we recommend that authors use plagiarism detection programs. You can visit the following website with information about iThenticate:  http://www.ithenticate.com/

Authors who send a manuscript to  REMIE are invited to add their ORCID identifier (if they have one). Those who do not have it, can register in ORCID at the following website:  http://orcid.org

Since its inception in 2012, REMIE has not charged Article Processing Charges (APCs) to authors for the publication of their manuscripts. As of July 2021, REMIE offers open and immediate online access to published articles (Gold Open Access). This access implies expenses associated with both the publication process and the services necessary for said publication. This entails processing charges for the articles that must be covered by the authors once the article has been accepted from the date indicated. Obligations for authors

  • The research being reported must have been conducted in an ethical and responsible manner and must comply with all relevant legislation.
  • Researchers must present their results clearly, honestly and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate manipulation of data.
  • Researchers should strive to describe their methods clearly and unambiguously so that others can confirm their findings.
  • Researchers must meet the publication requirements that the submitted work is original, not plagiarized, and has not been published elsewhere.
  • Authors must assume collective responsibility for the submitted and published work.
  • Sources of funding and relevant conflicts of interest must be declared.
  • The  authorship  of research publications:
    • It should accurately reflect people's contributions to the work and to its publication.
    • You must follow the authorship and recognition criteria that will be agreed upon at the beginning of the project. Ideally, the criteria for authorship within a particular field should be agreed upon, published, and consistently applied by research institutions, professional and academic societies, and funders.
    • You should include only those people who meet the criteria for authorship (that is, they made a substantial contribution to the work) and you should not omit deserving authors such as ghost authors.
    • You should avoid including people who do not meet the authorship criteria, such as: guest authors who are listed due to seniority, reputation, or alleged influence; Gift authors listed as a personal favor or in exchange for payment.
    • It requires all authors to agree to be on the list and to approve the submitted and accepted versions of the publication.  Any changes to the list of authors must be approved by all authors, including those who have been removed from the list.  The corresponding author should act as a point of contact between the editor and the other authors and should keep co-authors informed and involve them in important decisions about publication (for example, responding to reviewers' comments).
    • It should not be confused with acknowledgments that could misleadingly imply a contribution or endorsement by individuals who, in fact, have not been involved in the work or have not received endorsement.

Language editing

Hypatia Press requires excellent language editing for potential authors of any of its journals. Please note that regardless of the language you choose for your article or review, the language must be well used and the article well written. It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that the submitted manuscript meets the language standards required for publication in a scientific journal. To do this, authors may wish to use language editing services to avoid grammatical and spelling errors.

Evaluation procedure

Authors are required to participate in the peer review process. In this sense: candidates should avoid any clue about the authorship of the work presented especially in the first pages of the manuscript. The names of the authors should not appear in the manuscript. The information about the authors is included in the electronic platform, but not within the manuscript file sent for review. Manuscripts that do not meet these submission standards may be rejected.

When a manuscript is submitted, the editors do a review of the manuscripts to ensure that no files contain identifying information about the authors and that the article has not been published elsewhere before. Then, within a maximum period of 15 days from the date of receipt of the article, the journal editor will assign two external evaluators who will carry out a blind review of the article (anonymous double evaluation). During the review period of the article, both the names of the authors and the reviewers will be anonymous.

The reviewers are identified by the journal's editors, and are researchers with experience in their respective fields. The most suitable evaluators are selected according to the request received and experience; A network of academics can also be created to collaborate as evaluators in our journal.

The editors are in charge of analyzing the evaluators' reports and exchanging opinions with some members of the editorial board in order to make an appropriate decision on whether an article could be publishable or not. The decision is reached through the evaluators' reports.

The editors review all the evaluations carried out and contrast the evaluators 'notes with the content of the article before sending the evaluators' decisions and comments to the authors. If the reviewers do not carry out their duty properly, the editors will remove them from the list and send the article to another reviewer or a member of the editorial board for a quick review of the manuscript.

In cases where the editors have doubts after the evaluation process, the evaluation will be checked again with some members of the editorial board, according to their area of expertise, in order to reach an agreement and a decision on the manuscript. .

The results of the evaluation will be sent to the authors within a  maximum period of three months after they are received.

All parties involved in the publication process (editors, reviewers, authors and others) must adhere to the statement of Ethics in publication .

The opinions and contents of the articles published in REMIE are the sole responsibility of the authors; In addition, it is your responsibility to obtain the appropriate permissions to include material published elsewhere.
